I am a Ph.D. graduate of Canterbury Christ Church University, England, UK in the field of Applied Linguistics with an excellent track record in the pedagogy and andragogy of English as a Foreign/Second Language (EFL/ESL), as well as qualitative research and academic writing/reading, hence EAP. As for my soft skills, I am a highly self-motivated, enthusiastic, interculturally competent, engaging, talented, energetic, compassionate, forward-thinking, and team-oriented academic with excellent organisational, interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication skills. I have a long-standing interest insuch areas as English for Academic/Specific Purposes (EAP/ESP), Sociolinguistics, Didactics of Foreign Languages & TESOL, Psycholinguistics, Phonetics & Phonology, Social Psychology, Individual Differences, and Socio-Cultural Psychology, and can make significant contributions in these areas. As well as earning a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, I have also obtained a CELTA certificate (Pass Grade A) from the aforementioned university. Currently, I am working as an assistant professor in Didactics of EFL, Language Assessment, Phonology, ESP, and Designing & Evaluating Assessment Tools (D.E.A.T.) at Algiers 2 University.

My Ph.D. thesis is entitled ‘A Qualitative Case Study of UK University Academics’ Collaborative Practices: A Social-Psychological Perspective’. Currently, I am teaching on both BA Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and MA Didactics of English as a Foreign Language programme, including ‘Teaching Phonetics and Phonology’, ‘ESP and EAP’, ‘Designing and Evaluating Assessment Tools’, and ‘Assessing English Language Skills’, and ‘Didactics of English as a Foreign Language’ at the University of Algiers 2, Algeria (From September 2022 to July 2023). Moreover, as my academic CV demonstrates, I have great experience of teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) both at language schools and at university level, hence my excellent grasp of pedagogy and andragogy of EFL and EOP (English Only Policy). I, therefore, feel that I am a great fit for this role and a valuable asset to your institution as I feel I match the person specification criteria more closely. However, though I do not possess a professional teaching qualification like PGCE or DET yet, I am willing to obtain one whilst employed in the said teaching role.

CELTA at Canterbury Christ Church University, UK (Feb-May 2022)

• I obtained a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults from Canterbury Christ Church University, UK with Pass (Grade A).

• I taught a multiracial group of adult students at Canterbury Christ Church University over three months. The students were from such diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds as China, Japan, Russia, Turkey, Afghanistan, Italy, and Albania.

Ph.D. at Canterbury Christ Church University, UK (October 2018- December 2021)

• My Ph.D. research, entitled ‘A Qualitative Case Study of UK University Academics’ Collaborative Practices: A Social-Psychological Perspective’, examined the social-psychology of a group of British University academics’ collaborative practices.

• My PhD thesis examiners were impressed with the work and proudly described my ‘critical’ academic writing and research skills as “second to none”.

PhD Pre-Sessional Programme at Canterbury Christ Church University, UK (November 2017- April 2018)

• I attended a six-month PhD Pre-sessional course prior to starting my Ph.D. in October 2018. During this period, I developed my academic English and research skills (hence, EAP), as well as intercultural communicative competence. I was also awarded a Certificate of Completion with 100% attendance and participation rate.
